Alarm Definitions

The Alarm Definitions page will show all events currently set up to be tracked as alarms and to either be recorded as an alarm or take an action such as sending out an email or text message. For email and text message alarms an SMTP connection must already be set up by your system administrator.

The two optional settings for all alarm definitions are Notifications and User Instructions.

Notifications: Allows you to define which users will get notified (email, text message, or both) and what information is sent when an alarm occurs.

Include Alarm Data: When selected will send specifics about the alarm (date, time, description, location, and alarm count).

Subject Line: This will be included in all notifications and will show up as the subject for emails and the first line of text in the text messages.

When selecting the "Add" button to bring up the Notify window, you can choose users' email addresses or phone numbers to have notifications sent to.

User Instructions:  Custom text that can be associated with an alarm to provide instructions to the user acknowledging the alarm.  These are only viewable within the web client when viewing the alarm details.
