Access Levels

Access Level: Access Levels consist of  Door Group/Time Schedules. Access levels are used to assign access to cards to control where and when a card is granted access. Because Access Levels are made up of at least one Door Group and Time Schedule, before attempting to create an Access Level, the corresponding Door Group and Time Schedule must exist or be created.

The Access Levels page will list all access levels in the partition.

From this page, you can do one of three things.

  1. Create New Access Levels
  2. View and/or Edit Access Levels
  3. Delete Access Levels

To create a new Access Level, simply click the “Create New” link at the top left. The “Create New Access Level” and the “Edit Access Level” pages look the same.

You can give the Access Level a Name and a Description if you wish.

tech-tip

Naming the access level properly will make assigning access levels to cards more intuitive.

The “Deadbolt Override” checkbox is an option that only affects the IP Enabled and Aperio locksets. In these integrated locksets with a deadbolt or the “Privacy” feature, checking this box allows the cardholder to unlock the door with the card even if the door is secured from the inside by the deadbolt. Public Safety officers might need this privilege, where maintenance personnel might not. This option does not affect readers controlled by VertX panels.

You can add more Door Groups by clicking the blue “Add” button. This will open a pop-up that lists all your Door Groups. You can search for the name of the Door Group by using the search function.

You can then assign the appropriate Schedule that should be tied to that Door Group by clicking on the Schedule dropdown. This opens a similar pop up so you can search and select the correct Schedule.

The “History” tab shows an audit log of any changes to this Access Level from this page.
